Apple to Increase AI Investments

Ana sayfa / News

Apple released important messages regarding its AI strategies while announcing its third-quarter fiscal 2025 results. CEO Tim Cook stated that investments in AI are accelerating and that they are open to acquisitions to accelerate these developments.

According to Cook’s statements, Apple is interested in companies of all sizes, not just large ones. While seven companies have been acquired since the beginning of 2025, the financial size of these acquisitions was reportedly relatively small. However, it was clearly stated that Apple may make strategic AI-focused acquisitions in the future.

Cook’s statement, “We are open to acquisitions that will accelerate our roadmap,” highlights the steps Apple is taking to strengthen its current position in this area. The company’s current status in AI development has raised some questions in the industry.

Despite the features under the Apple Intelligence umbrella introduced at WWDC 2025 in June, the perception that it is lagging behind its competitors still persists.

The major AI-powered update to Apple’s digital assistant, Siri, is reportedly not yet complete and, according to Reuters sources, could be available to users as early as spring 2026. Cook merely stated that “good progress” has been made on personalized Siri.

No concrete information was released regarding which companies Apple will target for new acquisitions. However, industry sources suggest Apple is reportedly interested in Perplexity AI, a prominent startup in the field of AI-powered search engines.

These claims reinforce speculation that Apple is seeking greater visibility in the AI competition led by major tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI.

Amidst all these developments, Apple increased its revenue by 10 percent to $94 billion in the third quarter. Net profit increased by 14 percent to $24.43 billion. This financial growth demonstrates the company’s strong position in investing in AI.
